L5 - Image Captions

Issue Definition

 

Image Captions can be a useful support for providing users more informative content or to explain/detail image’s content. However, Captions are often skipped by the subjects.

Guideline Text

1. Captions should be appropriate:
1.a Self-explanatory images should not require an accompanying Caption.

2. Captions should be informative and salient:
2.a Information reported should be relevant in order to better understand the image or to provide supplementary information.

3. Captions should be readable and easily comprehensible:
3.a Wording should be accurate. Clarity is mandatory.
